A BIGGER BUNGALOW

The original house, a traditional two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow in a great neighborhood, had become too small for the Owners‘ family. Morningside Architects‘ expansion design, a two-story addition to the back of the house, includes an opened-out kitchen and family room on the first floor, and a master suite on the second level, accessed via a stair off the main hall. Care was taken to minimize the added volume as seen from the street and thus to preserve the scale of the neighborhood. The original bungalow rooms are refinished and the original central hall reclaimed to restore grace to this historic home.
